Healthy eating is a way to feel better, avoid stress and live a healthier life, according to the latest Food and Wine Health report.
The report looks at how foods are produced, processed and consumed and what is the best way to enjoy them.
Here are some tips for healthy eating: Eating meat is good for you.
A diet rich in meat products such as beef, lamb, pork, chicken and veal has been shown to help lower blood pressure and prevent heart disease, but it’s also been linked to higher cholesterol and increased risks of diabetes.
A vegan diet also is good, but many vegans do not eat meat and instead follow a plant-based diet, according the report.
Avoid red meat.
Red meat is a good source of saturated fat, cholesterol and saturated protein, which can lead to heart disease.
However, many vegans also eat red meat and a vegetarian diet, which is considered healthier.
The best way is to get your calories from plant-food sources.
Find a plant food that contains less fat and more protein than the food you’re eating.
For example, a vegan meal might contain a lot of meat, but the calories come from vegetables, fruit, beans, nuts, seeds and whole grains.
Look for vegetables with less than 2 tablespoons of fat per serving.
They are healthier and have a higher fiber content.
Choose fresh vegetables.
If you’re in a hurry, choose fresh produce, including berries and vegetables such as cauliflower, broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cabbage root, collard greens, corn and kale.
Also, look for fresh meats and other low-fat options.
Avoid processed foods that contain salt and sugar.
Those are bad for your heart and can increase your risk of developing high blood pressure, according with the report, which will be released on Nov. 6.
