The Los Angeles Lakers superstar will be on a two-day trip to China to sign memorabilia, eat at restaurants, take photos and meet fans, according to a report by the AP.
Bryant will join the rest of the Lakers roster in Beijing on Tuesday and Thursday and will be in Shanghai on Friday.
Bryant will be the first NBA player to sign a contract with China-based fast-food chain China Sun Yat-sen Food Group, which he owns with Chinese billionaire Wang Jianlin.
Bryants family has had an extensive connection to the country and the Chinese people.
His mother was born in China and is named as Wang Jianli, and his father was born and raised in China.
China has been the most important market for Kobe Bryant since he was a teenager.
China is the world’s third-largest economy after the United States and Japan.
He is also known as a basketball player, and the Los Angeles team won an NBA championship in 2008 with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.
He is known as one of the best players in the NBA and the Lakers have been very successful over the years, winning a total of 22 championships in their history.
They were last in the Western Conference in 2017.
