RTE’s food editor Peter Murphy explains how to make homemade dog food.
How to make dog food with a meat thermometer This is how to do it: In a large pot, add the meat thermometers to the heat and cook over a moderate heat.
Once the meat has begun to brown, turn the heat down to medium-low and let it cook for several minutes, then stir the mixture well.
This will give a little browning.
When the mixture has cooked through, remove from heat and stir in the oats and peas.
Take the mixture out of the heat for a minute, then pour the mixture back into the pot.
It will have a thick, gooey consistency.
If you don’t like it too thick, you can add a little salt to it.
Make the gravy and add to the pot, then return the pot to the stove.
Add the gravy to the potatoes, then turn off the heat.
This will take a few minutes to cook, so add the remaining ingredients to the gravy pot.
Mix everything together well, and serve with some chopped coriander, parsley and salt.
